Authors are encouraged to archive published versions of their work in institutional repositories and academic databases with appropriate citation to the journal.
2. Peer Review Policy
The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of published research. Submitted manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers based on relevance, methodological soundness, clarity, and contribution to climate change and disaster studies. Editorial decisions are made after careful consideration of reviewers’ recommendations.
3. Paper Prints Policy
Climate Change and Disasters primarily operates as an online open-access journal. Printed copies of journal issues or articles may be provided upon request subject to printing and delivery charges. Interested authors or institutions may contact the editorial office for print availability and pricing details.
4. Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer-review process is completed by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. Withdrawal requests after acceptance or publication will only be considered in exceptional circumstances involving ethical concerns, significant errors, or legal issues. Unethical withdrawal practices may result in restrictions on future submissions.
5. Refund Policy
All publication and processing fees are generally non-refundable once the manuscript has entered the editorial or peer-review process. Refunds may only be considered in cases of duplicate payments, administrative errors, or exceptional circumstances approved by the publisher.
6. Publication Ethics
- All submitted manuscripts are subjected to a blind review process by relevant experts in this peer-reviewed journal before being considered for publication. The editor in charge shall ensure that the peer review procedure is prompt, impartial, and fair.
- Submissions will be forwarded to Desk Review first, where they will be assessed based on their originality, content, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The Editorial Board will forward it to the Reviewers for additional assessment if they deem it fit for publication.
- The editorial board are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the manuscripts and drafts in the context of information about manuscript submission to reviewers and other journal advisory board members.
- The authors are expected to provide a written declaration that the submitted work is original and has not been submitted for publication in another journal.
- The editor is also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal and all correspondence with reviewers.
- The editorial policies of the journal should encourage transparency and complete, honest reporting, and the editor should ensure that peer reviewers and authors have a clear understanding of what is expected of them.
- The Editorial Board members will take reasonable steps when ethical issues are observed with respect to a submitted manuscript or published paper. Every act of unethical publishing behavior will be looked into, even if it is discovered years after publication.
7. Plagiarism Policy
Climate Change and Disasters maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unethical publication behavior. All submitted manuscripts are screened through plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.
- Up to 10% similarity: Acceptable
- 11% – 20% similarity: Minor Revision Required
- 21% – 30% similarity: Major Revision Required
- Above 30% similarity: Automatic Rejection
8. Copyright Policy
Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting the journal the right of first publication and distribution. Proper acknowledgment of authorship and original publication source must always be maintained when the work is reused or shared.
9. Open Access Policy
Climate Change and Disasters is a fully open-access journal. All published content is freely accessible online without subscription or access fees. Readers may read, download, share, and use the published material for academic and non-commercial purposes with proper citation.
10. Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research, review, or publication process. Transparency in disclosure helps ensure fairness, credibility, and ethical scholarly communication.
11. Data Availability Policy
Authors are encouraged to make supporting research data available through recognized repositories or supplementary materials whenever possible. Data availability statements should clearly indicate how the supporting data can be accessed while respecting ethical, legal, and confidentiality considerations.
12. Retraction Policy
The journal reserves the right to retract published articles in cases involving plagiarism, duplicate publication, ethical misconduct, falsified data, or major scientific errors. Retraction notices will remain publicly accessible to preserve the transparency and integrity of the scholarly record.
